Canadian-born singer Raghav has just released a brand new single and video “MAAYERA” in partnership with streaming service Saavn, already trending in India to critically acclaimed reviews. This will be followed by his fourth studio album in 2019. His first three albums, have already been more successful than most musicians could hope for in an entire career.

Raghav sold an impressive 1.4 million copies of his debut album ‘Storyteller’ which led to a MOBO Award, two UK Asian Music Awards, an Urban Music Award and four UK national top 10 singles. The album single handedly changed the landscape for artists of South Asian origin worldwide. It was a fresh sound of Bollywood, R&B and reggae that produced four top 10 national chart hits in the UK and worldwide between 2004 and 2006. “Angel Eyes” (produced by reggae legends Sly & Robbie) became a global phenomenon, particularly in the Indian subcontinent where Raghav regularly performs to sold out stadiums and from where he embarked on a world tour in 2007.

Raghav’s sophomore album ‘Identity’ reached #1 in both the UAE and India, featuring the hit single “MY KINDA GIRL” with hip hop legend Redman. It also won him a Southern Asian Music Award for Best Artist, an Asian Achievers Award and a GIMA nomination for Best Album.

Raghav’s third studio album ‘The Phoenix’ featured the hit single “Fire”, produced by platinum selling hit maker Jim Beanz. It reached a new level of success in Canada for Raghav, receiving over 80,000 spins at domestic radio stations across the country and going Certified Gold. The track spent 32 weeks in the Top 20 at Canadian radio and 21 weeks on the Canadian Singles Top 100 charts. The album also had a Juno nomination for Best R&B single for “SO MUCH”, one of 3 tracks on the album produced by award winning super producer Labrinth.

Bollywood has also called for Raghav and fulfilled his life long dream of working with Oscar and Grammy winning legend A R Rahman on the highly acclaimed soundtrack for the Shah Rukh Khan film “JAB TAK HAI JAAN”. Raghav appeared on the hit track “ISHQ SHAVA”. The song has accumulated over 75 million views on YouTube.

Raised in Calgary, Alberta on a musical diet of Hindi and Indian classical music, combined with a love of American pop artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Marvin Gaye, you would expect Raghav to have a unique musical perspective – and he does. He describes his new sound as a singer/songwriter record with heavy Indian and Island influences – a new phase of a very unique, culturally rich musical upbringing steeped in great songs.

Raghav has returned to the cultural global pop diaspora he has already dominated with his new single, “MAAYERA” – a fusion of reggae, pop and Indian musical elements as only Raghav can do, but in full Hindi. With an album to follow that features productions from Grammy award winners Afrojack, A R Rahman and Di Genius, Raghav is right back in the heart of a world/pop sound that he himself helped create, and is set to reclaim his throne as the king of multicultural pop.
